* (Schoolhouse Session fees are waived for those who purchased their machine from Going Batty. Due to the popularity of these classes we often have to put students on a waiting list. Lately, a high number of students have enrolled, not called to cancel their enrollment, and then not attended these classes depriving those on the waiting list the opportunity to come. Therefore a $10 fee will now be collected to hold your spot in class. A $10 credit will be given to each student who has paid this fee and attends class in the form of a going batty! Gift Card. Not following the going batty! class cancellation policy will forfeit your $10 fee.
Join us each class as we explore different functions and features of your sewing machine! A different topic each session.
Learn the basics of your machine including threading, stitches, needle positions, presser feet use, maintenance, and more! Navigate through the buttons on your machine while exploring built in practical stitches and your presser feet. Elastic, buttonholes, and zippers are a breeze when you sew with a Bernina! See what all of the buzz is about as we sew with specialty feet.

Specialty feet, needles and accessories are just a few of the tools we will explore as we pleat, gather, pipe, fringe, quilt and more. The sky is the limit! Let’s have fun playing with your fabulous decorative stitches. We’ll combine stitches, change their shape, and use specialty threads to create one of a kind custom stitches that are sure to become new favorites. A custom Set-Up program, Creative Consultant, built-in tutorials, sideways directional stitching. These are just a few of the things that make your sewing machine an… Artista! Get comfortable using your serger in this hands-on, 3-hour class. Learn to thread your serger and change stitching settings. Designed to acquaint you with basic serging techniques, this project features four-thread overlock (seaming, patch work), 3-thread overlock (seaming, gathering), and a three-thread rolled edge (ruffle). At the end of class you’ll have a little zippered pouch for storing your serger accessories—extra feet, seam ripper, etc.
